for the City

Seeking the welfare of our city

“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”

Jeremiah 29:7
For Milton keynes

We are a church committed to impacting our city for Christ, one grid square at a time.

At Garden City Vineyard, we long to be a church where God is worshipped, the good news is preached, people meet Jesus and encounter His Spirit. But we don’t want to stop there. We believe the church isn’t meant to huddle together in a cosy corner. We are called to move beyond our four walls to bless, love and serve our city.

Since the autumn of 2022, we’ve been building this church from the ground up. What began with a handful of friends gathered around a dining table has grown into a diverse community of people who call Garden City home. We’ve often likened those early days to building a beachhead, a time of laying foundations, gathering people and resources and preparing the ground for all that God has called us to be and do in Milton Keynes.

As the next chapter in our story begins, we believe now is the season to step out with the right posture towards our city. Not because we want to be the best church in the city, but because we want to be the best church we can be for the city.

Milton Keynes is built on a system of grid road, and is a city made up of distinct neighbourhoods and communities. We want to take responsibility for the places God has put us, serving neighbourhoods, strengthening communities, meeting practical needs and creating opportunities for people to encounter Jesus. One grid square at a time.

Our prayer is that we would build a legacy so strong that if, one day, Garden City Vineyard no longer existed, our city would notice. That Milton Keynes would feel the loss of our presence because of the difference we had made.

This starts with each of us offering our time, talents and treasure, making ourselves available, using the gifts and skills God has given us, and giving generously to support the work of the church across our city.

01

Giving Our Time

One of the most powerful gifts we can give is our time. By being present with people, listening to their stories, and walking alongside them, we show the love of Jesus in simple yet profound ways. Whether it’s serving a neighbour, volunteering at community projects, or just slowing down enough to notice those around us, giving our time helps build trust and relationships that make a lasting impact in our city.

02

Giving Our Talent

God has placed unique gifts and skills in each of us, and those talents are meant to bless others. From hospitality to service, from offering practical help to a random act of kindness, every ability has a role to play in renewing our city. When we use what we’ve been given not just for ourselves but for the good of others, we join God in His work of bringing hope and restoration to our city.

03

Giving Our Treasure

Generosity is at the heart of the gospel, and we want to reflect that by giving financially towards the work of the church in the city. Our treasure fuels mission, supports projects that serve the vulnerable, creates spaces for community, and resources all that God has called us to do. As we sow generously, we trust that God will multiply what we give to bring about transformation that lasts far beyond what we can see.

MK STOREHOUSE

Practical support offered with dignity, compassion and care.

For over a decade, MK Storehouse has operated as a ministry of Grand Union Vineyard, providing free clothing and practical support to individuals and families across Milton Keynes. Throughout this time, thousands of guests have been welcomed with dignity, compassion and care.

As MK Storehouse enters its next season, operations were temporarily paused at the end of December 2025, with a refresh and relaunch planned for autumn 2026. As part of this transition, Garden City Vineyard will take responsibility for management, while guiding the operations through a transition phase, with the aim of establishing an independent MK Storehouse charity.

CITY PARTNERS

Loving our city together

We believe that God is at work in our city and beyond, bringing hope, renewal and transformation. Part of our vision is to join in with what He is already doing. To do this we want to partner with a variety of projects and ministries around our city that are seeking to see God's renewal come to our neighbourhoods, schools, communities and our world.

Here are a few of the projects, ministries and organisations we are currently connecting with, supporting or where members of our community are directly involved with or work for.
