‘Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.’
(Jeremiah 29: 5-7)
At Garden City Vineyard, we long to be a church where God is worshiped, the gospel is preached, and people meet Jesus, but we don’t want to stop there. We believe the church is not just meant to huddle together in cosy corners, but is to move beyond four walls and bless, love, and serve our city in the name of Jesus.
Over the past three years, we’ve been building this church from the ground up. What began with a handful of friends gathered around a dining table, has now grown into a community of more than 120 people who call Garden City home. We often talk about this time as our beachhead season, laying foundations, gathering strength and resources, preparing us for all that God has called us to be in Milton Keynes.
Now we sense a new season beginning, a season to step out with the right posture towards our city. A season to make our mark, not because we want to be the best church in the city, but because we want to be the best church we can be, for the city. Our prayer is that we would build a legacy so strong that if, one day, we no longer existed, our city would notice. That Milton Keynes would feel the loss of our presence, because of the difference we’ve made.

We believe that God is already at work in our city, bringing hope, renewal, and transformation. Our vision is to join in with what He is doing. As a starting point, we seek to partner with organisations that are already making a difference in our community.
Here are a few of the projects and organisations we’ve started to connect and collaborate with:

Together, we want to invest in the future of our city: resourcing projects, supporting people in need, and creating opportunities for lives to be transformed. To date we have raised around £14,000 in financial giving to use for the good of our city. As we give, we believe God will use our generosity to multiply hope, healing, and impact across our city.
