‘Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.’
(Jeremiah 29: 5-7)
At Garden City Vineyard, we long to be a church where God is worshiped, the gospel is preached, and people meet Jesus, but we don’t want to stop there. We believe the church is not just meant to huddle together in cosy corners, but is to move beyond four walls and bless, love, and serve our city in the name of Jesus.
Over the past three years, we’ve been building this church from the ground up. What began with a handful of friends gathered around a dining table, has now grown into a community of more than 120 people who call Garden City home. We often talk about this time as our beachhead season, laying foundations, gathering strength and resources, preparing us for all that God has called us to be in Milton Keynes.
Now we sense a new season beginning, a season to step out with the right posture towards our city. A season to make our mark, not because we want to be the best church in the city, but because we want to be the best church we can be, for the city. Our prayer is that we would build a legacy so strong that if, one day, we no longer existed, our city would notice. That Milton Keynes would feel the loss of our presence, because of the difference we’ve made.
...
We believe God has called us to pour ourselves out for the good of Milton Keynes. That means offering our time, talents, and treasure, making ourselves available, using our gifts and skills He’s placed in us, and giving generously to fuel the work of the church in the city.
Every act of service, every contribution, every gift of time and resource is part of building a legacy of hope and transformation. Together, we can see lives changed and our city blessed in Jesus’ name.

Giving Your Time
One of the most powerful gifts we can give is our time. By being present with people, listening to their stories, and walking alongside them, we show the love of Jesus in simple yet profound ways. Whether it’s serving a neighbour, volunteering at community projects, or just slowing down enough to notice those around us, giving our time helps build trust and relationships that make a lasting impact in our city.
Giving Your Talent
God has placed unique gifts and skills in each of us, and those talents are meant to bless others. From hospitality to service, from offering practical to a random act of kindness, every ability has a role to play in renewing our city. When we use what we’ve been given not just for ourselves but for the good of others, we join God in His work of bringing hope and restoration to our city.
Giving Your Treasure
Generosity is at the heart of the gospel, and we want to reflect that by giving financially towards the work of the church in the city. Our treasure fuels mission, supports projects that serve the vulnerable, creates spaces for community, and resources all that God has called us to do. As we sow generously, we trust that God will multiply what we give to bring about transformation that lasts far beyond what we can see.
From 21st September to 5th October, we’re setting aside two weeks as a church family to sow generously into our city. This is a special opportunity for all of us to give above and beyond our regular giving, a united act of generosity that will fuel the work of God here in Milton Keynes.
Together, we want to invest in the future of our city: resourcing projects, supporting people in need, and creating opportunities for lives to be transformed. As we give, we believe God will use our generosity to multiply hope, healing, and impact across our city.
